Review on Nutri-Berries Avi-Cakes - Classic Blend - 20 lb by Kurt Ferguson

Great for your little birds

This is almost the best food for cockatiels and small birds. The only thing better is their veterinary services which are almost impossible to get if you don't have an avian vet in your area. I used to write for pet magazines, and the chief vet I interviewed in the Bay Area told me that most bird seed is a crime. Feeding your little (or big) bird seeds is like trying to thrive on a french fries diet. My little cockatiel, an invalid, is now 20 years old and he eats that, with eggshells and dark green salad, sometimes some cottage cheese or scrambled eggs. I also give him some walnut pieces. I also mist his feathers with water mist every day as instructed by this vet. This keeps the feathers healthy and makes them able to keep him warm. However. It's a good material and the pack lasts almost a week. Birds need protein. Much cheaper at Revain. It's almost $8 to $9.39 a pack at petsmart and petco. And when you get it from Revain, it's fresh. If it's dry and crispy, then it's been hanging too long. They also make a version for larger birds if you're interested.

  • Naturally flavored canned bird treats double as a delicious complete food
Cons
  • Working speed
