Good product when used correctly

I have a 2014 RAM 2500 truck and trailer with a lot of nose weight. I use an equalizer hitch but I have to pull the rods hard to align the truck and trailer. After using air springs, I realized that placing air in the springs would raise the truck and reduce the weight distribution effect. I believe the correct way to set this up is to level the truck as much as possible with a weight distribution hitch. Then use the air shocks to fine tune the level, but even 5 psi takes the weight off the WD bars and moves it to the truck. I think these air springs would work best on a truck or truck/trailer without a WD hitch. Under heavy loads, they then lift the rear end and protect the suspension from sagging. They are NOT increasing your payload limit. Installation was pretty easy. I used a high lift jack under my hitch to raise the back of the truck just enough to deploy the airbags. There was no need to lift or remove the tires from the ground. One screw was missing, but luckily ACE Hardware had one almost exactly the same so I didn't have to wait for a replacement part in the mail. I measured each of the long carriage bolts so that the clamp was equally spaced on each side and thus parallel to the airbag base plate. The instructions don't say so, but I think it's a good idea. Then I tightened the nuts with a torque wrench and cut off the protruding threads. My truck already has an onboard air compressor and a tank for my horns. The self-leveling kit sounds nice, but it's expensive and I wanted to use my own air system. I purchased an Air Lift 21703 paddle valve switch and installed it next to the license plate. It connects to my air tank and connects to both airbags.
