To be honest I was a bit skeptical about this tracker. The price I paid was $35 and I thought it was worth a try at that price. We have two cats and one loves to roam around - sometimes all day. I've always wanted to know where they go and I liked the look of the app so I gave it a try. The tracker arrived a few days later and I was immediately surprised at how small the box is. I connected the tracker to the charging cable and after a few hours it was ready. I slipped it into the rubber sleeve and threaded the cat collar through it. The smaller cat was not ashamed of the expansion of his collar and went outside as usual. I tested the app after being outside for a while and it worked great! It was great to see the traceable itineraries of his travels and heatmaps of the places where he spent most of his time. You can set up geofencing to track how far your cat travels and connect the tracker to your WiFi to automatically turn off when it's in range. My only complaint is that the tracker sometimes fails to connect to the network. However, it still collects a good amount of data. I ordered a second one for a large stray cat and we were amazed at how far it travels on its walks. Unfortunately he came back one morning and the collar was gone. Since the battery died, I couldn't use the functions to find it. I emailed Tractive when I accidentally renewed my lost tracker subscription and they sent me the latest known coordinates and offered me a 30% discount on a replacement! Their support team responds quickly and is very helpful. I took advantage of the offer and bought a replacement. I will most likely upgrade my subscription with the insurance they offer for lost trackers. I suspect this smart little tracker will continue to improve. I hope they improve the power saving feature which is currently in beta. The ability to reduce the frequency of location updates can help extend battery life. If you're thinking of getting one of these, go get one - I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
