WabalubadubDUB! The Best in Computer Accessories & Peripherals

Wow. For the money this is a winner, the USB sound card costs more than what you pay for the full package. It's not tied to headphones, so you can use it with any set. Then there's the software. You have to download it or order the disc from Andrea, which is annoying but keeps the price down and takes about 30 seconds to download, so no big deal. It's also amazing, it has an equalizer, built-in recording interface and noise reduction settings for VoIP calls/Skype (I almost forgot you can save custom equalizer presets too). I was very shocked at how decent the recordings were on my acoustics, they were really clear and the volume was near perfect. Sonically it's better than I could have imagined, I plugged my Sony headphones into the included sound card and while they sounded louder and better, they still sounded a bit crappy in comparison. Incidentally, the Sony is almost three times the price, with a three-meter cable and nothing else. Andrea's bass is flat and punchy, but you still get great mids and pretty good highs. Doing these things can actually hurt my ears. It's not quite a brain rumble like subwoofers strapped to your head, but it's a really tight and full sound. I tried them on studio headphones and they worked pretty well there too. The bad news is that they are made out of VERY cheap plastic. They don't look like they'll fall apart on you, they're nice and comfortable, but maybe you put them back in your pocket when you're done? Oh yeah it comes with a great little case lol. In general. Just buy them. They won't sound like $500 Seinnheiser studio cans, but they sound better than anything I've seen, even close to the price range of the new ones (about 15 when I got mine), and the add-ons are worth the price value.

Pros
  • The close proximity of the SuperBeam microphones to the user's left and right ears creates a "true head transmission" acoustic effect. Sound entering each microphone in natural phase duplicates its own live listening experience. Playback via headphones then ensures realistic sound reproduction.
Cons
  • Working speed
