Description of 🎧 Andrea Communications Surround Sound Recording Phones with 3D Technology

The Andrea SuperBeam headset records the user’s listening environment in 3D surround sound with the placement of Binaural Stereo Microphones on each ear piece of the headphone. The close proximity of the SuperBeam microphones to the user’s left and right ears create an acoustic “Real Head Transfer Function” effect. Sound arriving at each microphone in natural phase will duplicate ones’ own live listening experience. Headphone playback then delivers a realistic sound reproduction experience. With SuperBeam headsets, you can now have a portable recording studio right on your head with the ability to create hi-fidelity 3D virtual surround sound recordings where ever you may be. Great for recording live music, live audio events, live entertainment, lectures or environmental soundscapes. Simply put the head-set on and plug into your compatible stereo recording device. The headset provides standard 3.5mm audio plugs, one for the microphones and the other for the headphone connections. This enables you to listen to music through the headphone while using the binaural mics with your video camera. For use with: Go Pro Hero3 (w/Mic adapter cable), DSLR cameras, camcorders, digital field recorders, Mac and PC computers, or any recording device with external 3.5mm bias powered stereo Mic input.

Great Little Recording Combo

I've finally managed to use the headset and earbuds with a mic and I'm (generally) happy with the setup, particularly the value for money. I connected the headset to an Edirol R-09 digital recorder and a 32GB high speed SD card and was happy with the recording. At 96kHz the sound was crisp and clear with very little background noise (for a tavern) and although I had to remain calm during recording (difficult when drinking) I was pleased with the depth and breadth of the soundstage and the…

Pros
  • Simply slip on the headset and connect to a compatible stereo recording device. The headset has standard 3.5mm audio jacks, one for microphones and one for headphones. This allows you to listen to music through headphones with binaural microphones using a video camera.
Cons
  • Modern

WabalubadubDUB! The Best in Computer Accessories & Peripherals

Wow. For the money this is a winner, the USB sound card costs more than what you pay for the full package. It's not tied to headphones, so you can use it with any set. Then there's the software. You have to download it or order the disc from Andrea, which is annoying but keeps the price down and takes about 30 seconds to download, so no big deal. It's also amazing, it has an equalizer, built-in recording interface and noise reduction settings for VoIP calls/Skype (I almost forgot you can save…

Pros
  • The close proximity of the SuperBeam microphones to the user's left and right ears creates a "true head transmission" acoustic effect. Sound entering each microphone in natural phase duplicates its own live listening experience. Playback via headphones then ensures realistic sound reproduction.
Cons
  • Working speed

Worst sounding headset I have ever used.

This is quite simply the worst audio device I have ever used with displeasure in my life. I don't tend to exaggerate and I really wanted to like it and was hoping to get a great deal but unfortunately it's really just really bad. Before I get to the sound, let's start with the truly awful materials and build quality. The thing is thin. Like a weak dollar store. Is the metal piece around the ear cups? nope Really cheap plastic with a metallic finish that you can find on cheap toys. You have to…

Pros
  • The Andrea SuperBeam Headset records the user's listening environment in 3D surround sound with binaural stereo microphones on each earbud.
