I checked the output and polarity as soon as I received the Blind Spot to USB 12V adapter cable. Polarity reversed! It could damage sensitive electronics if I use it without checking it first. I cut off the end of the connector (not needed, I had to solder my own connector) and found that when I checked with a multimeter, red wire to red wire and black wire to black wire, I got a negative reading. When I messed up my connection, I got a positive ad. This indicates reverse polarity. The red wire in the cable is negative and the black wire is positive.
