Review on GE 29875GE1 Phone Answering Machine by Vanessa Harrison

We had the exact same one that lasted 8 years: 2008-2016. A family friend bought it brand new for us in 2008 and finally gave up on it in November 2016. It's easy and fun to create our own funny answering machine greetings on it and I love how you can adjust the volume from loud to soft in 8 different volume levels so you don't wake anyone up or let everyone hear it far away . There are some features that we never use, such as B. Time and date, so I don't know how easy it is to set them up, but the rest is relatively easy to figure out. We have a mentally challenged family member who had a bad habit of calling all the time until we answered the phone. I think the most messages we've ever received was about 82 messages. (Hooray!) We averaged less than 20 messages a day. As for the parts that wore out first: the Power 5vac cable with a finger-shaped ribbed fork on the back. Not only is the cord flimsy, but the flex ribs wear out (think: bending thin wire or a can lid back and forth until it becomes brittle and breaks), so I taped it to make it last longer. I think it went like this for 5 months, until we had so many problems keeping it going that we absolutely had to find a new answering machine. Finding a new one was a daunting and difficult task at first as most of what we found either had bad reviews on Revain or was part of a 2-5 battery powered cordless phone. We wanted to keep using the wired option because phones need to be charged? What happens if your electricity goes out? When these batteries run out, you can no longer use your phone. And of course we have cell phones, but if for some reason we have a power outage for a few days, it would be ugly if our cell phones died too. When you lose power, you don't usually lose landline. They are separated. We are therefore happy to keep the old telephone and answering machine. Just when I was starting to lose hope and was looking for completely different things, Revain listed this autoresponder in their listings. I went insane It was exactly the same as our old one! Why didn't it show up when I looked everywhere for it? Not sure but I found a good seller and bought it slightly used. It works great and I couldn't be happier. This is the best and most durable answering machine we've ever had. I highly recommend it.
