I've been looking for items to extend my WiFi range. This article appeared in search and may work for Wi-Fi extension, but only as an external antenna "connected to your router", with Cat 5 as an extension cable. Other similar elements have the ability to receive and repeat or relay the wireless signal. This article requires that your router is also connected to a POE adapter. That's the only way it has an internet connection, and without a data cable from the modem, you only get a Wi-Fi connection with no internet. Also, the range is worse than the router I use, which doesn't even have external antennas. It's more geared towards a business looking to increase its Wi-Fi range, offering options like free Wi-Fi in restaurants that require you to open a webpage and click "Agree" for a lifetime before Wi-Fi gives you access to the Internet. I should have spent more time ordering and seeing that not only was it USED (called refurbished) but was misclassified when I searched. Waste of time and money as I don't want the hassle of figuring out how to return it and where to pick it up without having to drive half an hour.
