This item works great with sheet metal up to 1/8 inch thick. 1/16 inch is optimal, but if necessary you can also use a little thicker metal. a benefit and necessity for me when working with sheet metal on the walls of my van. I needed a way to mount the aluminum flat screen mount to the wall and this was exactly what I needed! Just make sure you use the *exactly* right size drill bit when drilling the holes. If the hole is a little bigger, they won't stay in place and will rotate.
