Review on πŸ“Ί Winegard Elite Outdoor HDTV Antenna – 70 Mile Range for VHF and UHF Channels by Clint Miller

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not for me - accessories and consumables

Living in southern Maryland 54-70 miles from desired Chanel towers. The antenna to be replaced was a huge 40-year-old Winegard V-shaped boosted antenna (model cw-1001) that used 54 channels, only some of which were pixelated. It had to be transported, but in this condition it could not withstand dismantling. This new, smaller Elite 7550 with all the distance ads seemed like a logical choice. To double-check Winegard's claims, before I took the big step, the 7550 was mounted on the same mast under the large antenna, and channel scans were performed on the original large antenna. No change, 54 channels. I then replaced the RG6 with a 7550 with its own amp and scanned. 38 channels and only a few unpixelated and unpixelated. I tried using different poles on different parts of the roof and the only good, reliable signal I could get was 44 miles east across the Chesapeake Bay to the WBOC Delaware. After 40 years of excellent performance from the old Winegard, I am very disappointed with this new model that has become widespread.

Pros
