I have two opinions about this monitor. I've been using a 15.6" standalone monitor with my laptop for a while, which mounts in its own case and connects via USB. It's not the most elegant solution, but it works and as usual. They cost around $200 and are an inexpensive way to increase screen real estate. The Mobile Pixels Duex Lite takes a different approach and I can't deny that it's slim and attractive. The laptop is smart and the screen is thin enough to fit in many laptop bags so you can keep it connected at all times. The Duex Lite weighs 1.3 pounds, while my current standalone monitor from AOPEN weighs 2.5 pounds, which is noticeable. the difference in weight when you have it in your bag with your laptop. The Duex Lite also feels a little more professional and custom, while my standalone screen looks and feels like I built my rig out of duct tape and brushes on pipes. think if i spent more time working away from home i would fall in love with this thing. It is ideal for those who need to move a lot as it is extremely portable. However, since I mostly work from home, I'm not sure I can justify the extra money for a smaller screen. I will continue to use it, but for home work I find my larger standalone second monitor makes more sense.
