I needed these after my old amplified speakers died. I have a Yamaha receiver, I plugged them into my main left and right headphones and they sound great. I switched on the old Blader Runner mp4 and couldn't be happier. I really appreciate a well designed and thought out product. The jacks can be connected to either a banana plug or just the supplied speaker cable. Identifying the left and right wires is no problem as the wires are color coded, stripped and tinned on the ends. The bushings unscrew to reveal a small hole to thread the wire through, which is easier than trying to wrap it around, which you can do as well. The ports are even slightly angled to make it easier. I have wood trim and they look great. Nice setup to hang them anywhere on the wall and the front covers can be removed like my $3000 JBLs on my other system. They also make a good pair of surround speakers. The price is so high I could buy another pair and use one for the center speaker. I added some EQ from my receiver to boost the high frequencies but without distortion. I don't turn them up very loud since the hippie days are behind us, but they hold up to a decent volume. All in all a great purchase.
