I read a lot of reviews on this product before purchasing and was a bit concerned but ordered two anyway as they were a great price. Dude I don't know what the other reviewers did but everything they said negatively didn't apply to me. 1.) It doesn't look like a toy, it looks like any other laser thermometer. I have others, they are all the same. 2.) It came with batteries, it was very easy to see which way the battery compartment opens and easy to see which way the batteries go in. 3.) It turned on immediately. and was already set to Fahrenheit so I didn't have to fiddle with it. The temperature could be a degree lower, but I haven't done anything to calibrate it yet. Knowing it's just a degree, I can add that in my head too. There's nothing to blame them for. I'm not saying the other reviewers are wrong, I just don't know if they bought older models, third party suppliers, or if they didn't try hard enough. I took it out of the box and started it up in about a minute. Overall great product, fast delivery!
