My espresso machine that I used to make coffee with broke after years of use. I was looking through all the options and was about to buy an infusion coffee maker and gooseneck kettle when I came across this one. Also, the cost of non-standard filters. So I took this device as a "test" to see if I could just pour hot water in the morning while half asleep. After about a week, I settled on a relatively simple method that is 95% similar to the coffee I'm used to from my espresso machine. With the same vacuum sealed Lavazza coffee I've used for years, I use 3 level tablespoons instead of 2, pour water in 20 seconds. after boiling and leave for 4 minutes. I use a kitchen timer. I mark the amount of water on the outside of the Clever Drip with masking tape. That's it. Coffee is not bitter, the taste is rich. When I close my eyes and taste it, it's not as rich as coffee from an espresso machine. but the rest is ok. I will continue to use this method as I think the coffee gets even less strong with the Pour Over method.
