I brew hot tea, but still it should NOT melt the ends of the teabags into hard, crunchy plastic! This tells me that even with semi-hot tea, we do NOT brew our tea with safe unbleached cotton. We soak our drinks in a very cheap plastic-like material. I have used other tea bags before. I've never had this before! So I experimented with low heat. My old cotton bags burned like paper or cotton. However, these tea bags instantly turn into hard plastic! I've paid a little more for tea filter bags in the past, and I'm happy to pay a little more for quality. Please folks, if you are health conscious, spend a little more and buy empty tea bags made out of something other than cheap plastic. Well, if my review sounds weird and you don't care about the long-term effects it can have on your body, spend your $12 on 400 cheap and questionable tea bags that are made out of plastic and not paper or cotton.
