I bought this to replace a used motorhome that I bought. The price seemed good, especially when compared to more stylish models with a number pad. The old lock looked pretty much the same as this new model so I figured it would fit. And it fit. in summary. But it took a lot of work to get there. I have changed locks on real doors many times and have never had such trouble. It's essentially a two-person job, although it really shouldn't be. Screws do not align or slip off. The handle latch then disengages if each screw isn't tight, but you don't notice that at first. I really don't like that there is a # key on the doorknob and my key has the corresponding # on it! It seems very unsafe to advertise a model key that opens my door on the outside of my doorknob. All in all, this will work for now if I'm in a bind. In the meantime, I'll be staying in well-lit state parks where I initially feel moderately safe. But I won't be using this lock with the model number written on it if I decide to camp more often or travel alone.
