If you open the inside handle a little further than the handle, it goes beyond the stop and the door does not open any further. We had someone blocking our van because it happened. (Security issue) Is there anything we can do to prevent this in the future or is the pen broken? We received it on January 19th and our returns window closed on February 19th. We are not satisfied with this product.

This standard van door lock appears to be well made, it is all metal and the latch looks like it is light chrome plated steel unlike the OEM locks which all seem to have a saucepan. Metal or aluminum fasteners that must always be lubricated with oil or grease after a short period of use. This lock should work smoothly for an extended period of time. The lock looks good as long as it works smoothly. Good keys but not as heavy as a Southco lock and the lock cylinders that came with the van were a remote lock which I disabled when new. Do not trust master codes or keys. I've sold vans before cylinders don't seem so safe. The clip that holds the lock cylinder in place is the tailgate lock. After reading the reviews we decided to go with a chrome cap. This is a door lock. This turned out to be an error. The lock worked fine but a week later the lock on the doorknob broke preventing the door from closing. There is a very small piece of cheap metal that snaps onto the handle when locking. New door latch appears to be of good quality. Unfortunately, the mounting screws do not meet the requirements. Screws are of lower quality as they can be removed with a screwdriver. The original cylinder fell out of the lock while driving. I ordered a new padlock which turned out to be a different size than the original.
