This review is being revised. This is the THIRD RV lock I have had for my Riverside 2-14 RV. I've spent a lot of money, time and hassle on previous bans. The original cylinder fell out of the lock while driving. I ordered a new padlock which turned out to be a different size than the original. Just before I rented the RV it locked and wouldn't open so I had to hire a locksmith the night before the rental. He fixed it, but the cylinder had to be manually held while it was locked. It was not opened even during the rental period. As a cumbersome solution I have found that if the emergency exit window is left unlocked it can be used to enter if necessary without damaging the camper. Another entry point is through the storage hatch and raising the hatch under the main bed. NOTE: Consider installing a separate hatch lock if additional security is required when camping. I installed this lock before my last rental. The dealer recommended only using a deadbolt lock. The other padlock was sealed with tape as a reminder not to use it. The lock operated the 2000 miles of the trip, so far so good! It appears to be an American model. Typically, RV locks are not designed to withstand the road vibrations they are subjected to. I had a home built camper with a regular door and lock and it held up well. LET THE BUYER BE ATTENTION!
