After reading the reviews we decided to go with a chrome cap. This is a door lock. This turned out to be an error. The lock worked fine but a week later the lock on the doorknob broke preventing the door from closing. There is a very small piece of cheap metal that snaps onto the handle when locking. We decided to try again and return the broken lock. The second time the latch was installed normally but after a week the latch locked in the closed position and broke so it could not be opened! Luckily we were able to enter through another door and remove the bolts from the inside. We returned the second lock. This is a lock and we have chosen a different brand - one that is easy to recode with other locks and looks a lot better. best build quality.
