We bought these as a Christmas gift for my son to play with his friends in the neighborhood. While the distance and clarity seem really great, the headphone parts are really useless. Had I not bought it partly because of that option, I would have given it a better rating. Some devices actually work better and farther than the other two. I don't know what distance should be standard but they all seem to work for at least a mile which is fine for our use. Also, one of the base chargers doesn't always work. We have to keep switching units until we find the one that charges. One day I will go and find a marker that works with these devices and mark them all. Sometimes we lose other electronics like baby monitors and phone calls, but we just change the channel on all devices. units and the problem disappears.
