I had an old FBII XL31 system installed when the house was built. I could no longer update or monitor the FBII system. I looked at many options including Ring and Connected. Ring was an attractive way to rebuild the system and use existing wired sensors, but I found it a bit complicated and would have cost more than double. Konnected was interesting from the online monitoring aspect, but I wanted traditional keyboards. I chose the Vista 20p for its reliability, price, accessories available, and amount of online help and support. The Honeywell Vista 20p was designed for alarm professionals, but installation isn't bad if you have basic electronics experience. There are many tutorials on YouTube that are very helpful, especially when programming. One thing to look at is terminators. If they are at the end of the queue on your system (where they should be), updating can be problematic. I had to switch to 2K resistors as FBII used 2.2KI and also added Envisalink 4 for IP communications which is very useful for both self-monitoring and central station monitoring. I highly recommend this module and it was a major reason I chose Vista 20p.
