I'm working on a buoyancy experiment for a Girl Scout STEM summer camp and needed measuring cups to calculate the volume of an irregularly shaped solid. He did the same by measuring the volume of water displaced. I tested the results with several different measuring cups. I was amazed to find that the 1/4 cup mark on the 1 cup measuring cup is about half the mark on the 2 and 4 cup measuring cups (markings at bottom are missing). 1/4 cup on one of them). I tested 1/2 cup of water. The measuring cup size for 2 and 4 cups was about 1/4 cup. At 1 full cup, all three matched pretty closely. I haven't checked every measurement, but I've done enough to say: BUYERS ATTENTION! While this set is elegant and inexpensive, it is not very useful as a pitcher set for pouring small amounts of water.
