There's nothing wrong with shorts; They just didn't fit
I sent them back. The 32 inch waist I bought was too big so I bought the next smaller size which was the 30 inch waist. They're a little tight in the waist but better than the roomy 32s so I'm keeping the 30s. I bought these 30 years ago and they still fit great so sizes have changed over the years. I'm sure I can use a 31 inch waist in today's Columbia line.
