Everything I hoped for!

This is the first time I've added the device to my existing UBNT network after all the software updates. I simply connected to the switch via PoE, opened the app on my iPhone and the system immediately asked me if I wanted to use the new hotspot. Very well done and an amazing improvement over the old adoption procedures. Well done Ubiquiti Networks! The outside coverage is amazing! Every bit of advertised coverage.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Something's wrong

Great device, not plug and play

I'm using this device with my dream car to provide Wi-Fi to a fairly large cabin in northern Michigan. It took a lot of work with tech support to get the system working, this device kept falling out of the mesh network. If you just use the default settings, it works fine with a few settings. Well under 600 feet of service from the top of the hill, I'm probably closer to 200-250

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Zero

Covers the road very well

We needed this for my mother in law on the road and it works great. It covers about 300-400 feet with trees and small hills. I'm sure he would have gone further if there hadn't been any obstacles. It also brings a strong signal to the family home next to her at about 150 feet (indoors). So I was very impressed. I installed it at a height of about 15 feet. If we could go higher I would think the coverage could be greater given their terrain.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • May damage

Better than UAP-AC-PRO and omnidirectional.

When you need omnidirectionality and speed, this is what you need. I installed the shaft indoors in a central location. Penetrates better than UAP-AC-PRO, but still does not penetrate thick outer walls in a high traffic signal/noise area. Looks very chic on a white wall. LED light is not adjustable. It's just on/off and it's light.

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • Not the best

Maybe a lemon. Very poor performance

I have many Ubiquiti at home and have always been very happy with the products and their work. However, this UAP-AC-M-PRO did not deliver. Test unit in my shed about 60 feet or less from my deck, signal on deck with -72dB to -70dB signal. That's only marginally better than what I get from my UAP-AC-PRO through several walls indoors! I've played around with the settings for both channels and also set the default power to Maximum instead of Auto, but got only minor improvements. This device will…

Pros
  • Not fit for purpose
Cons
  • There are drawbacks

I love Ubiquiti, the best in computers and accessories

I've spent years trying to find a quality Mess Network. I've tried Google, Netgear, Orbi and all had reliability issues. Without a doubt, Ubiquiti is simply the best! Fast, reliable, easy to set up. LOVE Ubiquiti

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • So far so good

Disappointed - Whole Home & Mesh Wi-Fi Systems

I've been using Unifi for a long time, but until now these mesh products have been rubbish. The old AP+ outdoor units worked great and I've used them for years with no problems, but they stopped making them. I bought one of these new hotspots to fill a hole in my Wi-Fi coverage, but it was a challenge to accept and now no devices connect to it. This doesn't make sense as the other access points are further away and were giving out a weak signal, so I added this new access point.

Pros
  • Great Selection
Cons
  • Exchange Availability

Frustrated with networking products

Powerful enough to shoot down birds in flight

I installed these in our church to replace a 5 year old single band (dual post style) outdoor unit. It was a fairly quick installation as all the wiring was already in place; All I had to do was attach the bracket to the wall of the building with four screws in plastic anchors and swap the POE injector inside from the old 24v unit for a newer (and more standard compliant) 48v unit. included in this access point. As soon as I connected everything, the light on the front of this device came on…

Pros
  • Built in omnidirectional antennas
Cons
  • Something else
