Excellent FM reception for portable audio and video

I bought this to replace a broken Sony SRF-M37W. Sony is no longer made and used copies sell for insane money. The Tivdio V-112 has exceptional FM reception. I'm using Panasonic RP-HJE120-PPK headphones, which act as an antenna and that's why they might work as well. I can dial WFMU and shockingly WFDU from Manhattan. WFMU is marginal at best on my other portables, and WFDU is not available on all of my tuners except for my upgraded Sony XDR-F1HD. AM also seems to be good. It picks up WOR very clearly but struggles with WNYC, which wasn't a problem with the Sony SRF-M37W. I think the small size prevented Tivdio from installing a large enough AM antenna. It appears to be well built, but only time will tell. It's a nice little radio and I'm very impressed with the price at $22. Update 4/15/20: I have three of these radios now and still love them. The original has a cracked screen when I dropped it about the tenth time, but it still works fine. I have bought others as a backup in case they are no longer available. I sleep with it, so I know of Walkman style portable radios and have had them all. it's better than Sony and Sangeans. The only radio I'd rate higher is the Insignia, which is now being discontinued because it had an HD radio, but it was screwed up and falling apart. The trick here is that the included headphones aren't very good. I recommend upgrading to the Panasonic ErgoFit RP-HJE120-K for around $10. Better sound and better reception. Also get memory foam tips like the new bee for $7. This combination will really enhance this little gem of a radio!
