Review on 🔥 EC2-30 Ramblewood 2-Burner Electric Cooktop: Enhance Your Cooking Experience by David Alvarez

Revainrating 2 out of 5

After 5 months: did not turn off. Terrible potential!

Final Verdict: After considering all the possible options, I've come to the conclusion that I just don't want to use this device. I don't know if it failed itself or if a guest broke it somehow, so I didn't request a warranty replacement. There is no mention of a guarantee in any of the documents I can find. Instead of returning the product (expensive and fragile) I just bought separate skillets and fryers. All I can say is that IF you decide to buy one of these (many obvious clones from multiple sellers), just note that the controls are also fragile items that are easy to break and may come in one Situation where guests or unprepared people are unsure can use it incorrectly. There's a lock on each knob that requires the knob to be pushed down to turn it on and increase the temperature, and that seems like more than some people can comprehend, so they force the knob to turn and breaking the regulator under the glass. , causing it to short out and not shut down reliably. Update 5 months later: While my wife loved this hob, yesterday we found that the buttons on top would not turn it off. It's scary because it's on the porch where it might not be noticed until the next use. I checked the Ramblewood website and figured I might have to send it back, but just 2 weeks ago I threw away the shipping boxes. So I went to the hardware store and bought a 2 pole switch, box, etc. so we could turn it off manually. I hope that works. otherwise I'll have to swap. Initial 5 Star Review: Most of our cooking is done outside on the porch just to keep our air conditioning bills down. We had a standard two burner cooktop but it (over 15 years later) burned one of the coils and caused a small grease fire. This is not only a replacement for this hob, but also a decoration for this hob to make it easier to keep clean. I installed a new countertop by cutting out the prescribed hole as per the .pdf file provided. THIS LOOKS FANTASTIC! And of course there's a lot more surface area around it. Switching it on for the first time was a real treat as it heats up VERY quickly and the cooking surface glows red. Too hot to touch in a few seconds! My wife is very happy with the installation and so am I. The only difficulty with the installation was cutting a hole in the countertop as the MDF material is very dense. Turn on and then set to desired heat. The advert said there was a scraper to clean the surface, but instead we got two extra handles, which for me is a lot better than the scraper we already have :) The wiring was very basic, but you need 220 of course v. All real hobs use 220v so if you replace a good one you will have 220v. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CONNECT THIS TO A STANDARD 110V supply as it won't even get half hot enough to cook. Of course. that is the first impression right after the installation and the first use. If that's not the case, I'll let you know. UPDATE 10/20/18: No complaints in 4 months of daily use! Looks like the day it was installed and works like new
