I love that this aerator closes when not in use for pouring wine. Other aerators do not have a locking mechanism, so after pouring the wine, the aerator must be removed to seal the bottle. A gentle touch closes the lid and seals the wine well. It doesn't pull air out like a vacuum seal, but it does seal the bottle. The aerator's stream doesn't fizz or drip, but gives a good straight stream, not much slower than from a bottle. The fairly long stainless steel spout directs the jet exactly where you need it. When you're done, it doesn't drip, as I've found with many aerators I've used or tested.
