Exceptional trail shoe. Like all La Sportiva, the Mutants are small, although this is partly due to the conversion from euros to US sizes. However, in the US I am a size 12-12.5 and with Mutant and Akasha I found that a size 47 fits me perfectly and has enough room for my toes and Bushido also fits me perfectly at 47. Well worth the effort, once I figured out the sizing these shoes were a dream come true. They fit like gloves but don't cramp my fingers. They are suitable for the midfoot run and do not feel like Salomons in high heels. They are durable, surviving hundreds of kilometers without breaking. The tread is poor, allowing me to find my footing on soft ground no matter which way my foot lands. The outsole rubber is as sticky as advertised and unlike other big tread runners I felt good traction on slippery hard surfaces. Ideal for the Pacific Northwest.
