Review on Felt Glue by Beacon Adhesives: Enhancing your Crafting Projects by Kim Sanchez

Just regular craft glue

It could just be the type of felt I'm using or my impatience with working (HOURS for it to dry before I can even touch the project? No thanks! ), but I think I'll stick with hot glue from now on. I tried it, but it just didn't suit my needs. Even after allowing the glue to fully dry (three days! THREE!), I found that the pieces of my project weren't even connected. I waited 3 days for this glue to dry and ended up having to use hot glue anyway. Not only were the pieces not firmly glued together, but they couldn't be pulled apart with too much force to check if the edges were still loose. Some parts literally fell apart when I took on the project. As seldom as I use glue in my projects, I just don't have time for a product that doesn't work the first time. That goes straight into the trash can. Oh, and a side note: this glue smelled pretty strong for about a day after I used it. This will fade over time but should probably only be used in a well ventilated area unless you like the chemical smell of glue. In case anyone is wondering what kind of felt I used it with, I mainly work with recycled poly felt. It (poly felt) works great with hot glue as the heat basically melts the pieces together. This glue seems to be common craft glue that someone said was special for felt. This may work with other types of felt, but it's practically useless on felt.

Pros
  • Non-toxic, dries and washes off easily with water
Cons
  • Unfashionable
