Amazing Value in Turntables and Accessories

After ordering I read some customer reviews and was really worried I might have wasted a hundred dollars. As it turns out, I'm very happy with this TT.Sound: First of all, I was impressed with the sound quality. It's very bright, with a relatively rich midrange and a nice high end. Of course, this guarantees that I always hear clicks and pops, but this is vinyl. I'm not saying it's high-end audiophile quality, but it's good enough for everyday or everyday listening. Construction: Overall the turntable is a bit light but looks well put together. All parts were there as advertised and as far as I know it looks and feels good. I noticed that several reviewers didn't like the legs; the design is the same as my Hitachi TT 35 years ago; these worked well and I'm sure they will work just as well. Operating instructions: yes, almost all criticisms of the operating instructions are correct. No specs meaning no downforce/anti-skate specs meaning cartridge tuning is a guessing game. About 3 pages are devoted to setting up the CT in the manual; At least double that is spent on software I may never use. However, I at least remembered how it was done by Hitachi. If you've never balanced a tonearm before, you need to find a tutorial video on YouTube. Luckily it's not difficult, but you do need guidance. General Pros: Versatile, with adjustable arm balance, pitch control, detachable shell, etc. Cons: Useless instruction manual; only manual controls (it would be nice to use auto-stop as the player will spin until you stop it); Belt drive versus direct drive. All in all, I would highly recommend this TT to my friends, especially those who used it during the vinyl heyday. For those new to vinyl, I offer setup help.
