This nozzle is one of my favorites. It cuts clean and the profile looks good. I've used a Craftsman tip in the past that left a terrible finish but this tip left a smooth bight that didn't need sanding. You can sand the cutout slightly with sandpaper wrapped over the dowel but it's ok if you don't need it.I was afraid that the 1/4" shank would cause problems, but that didn't happen. If I change it the next bit will probably be 1/2 wave although they are better. I feed red oak, which can be easily profiled in one pass. I really couldn't be happier with the beat. It looks spectacular in wood nominally 1 inch thick (actually 3/4 inch). What else can you expect from a cutting tool made in Italy? By most accounts, Freud is second only to Whiteside, who doesn't have the ant-like kickback of Freud's beats. If you're considering buying something of dubious quality, ask yourself what you want to spin at 30,000 rpm in your shop. The safety of my face deserves a quality carbide.
