Review on πŸ”§ TEKTON SHD22127 Drive 6 Point Socket: Top Performance for Precision Fastening by Jeff Payne

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Appears to be of good quality.

I have purchased several chrome plated Tekton sockets to replace the ones missing in my kits. I have lots of Craftsman tools but the nearest Sears store is over 50 miles away and they are out of stock. At the moment, Lowes only owns craftsman tool kits, not individual pieces. I have a couple of sets of Tekton Impact Sockets that I've been using for a while and haven't had any complaints so far. I just bought 2 chrome sockets this week, this size and another. The other was a CR-V socket, this one doesn't say it. I don't know if the new heads are made of other alloys or what, but CR-V has long been the higher quality standard for chrome heads and chrome moly for impact resistance. They may sell both, but I can't find an option for the CR-V on Amazon or Tekton's website. Time will tell if they are as good as many say they are. I usually use impact sockets for almost everything these days and as I said they were bought to replace missing sockets. Handyman sockets aren't as good as they used to be, I manage to break them all the time rather than with an impact wrench. Hopefully the Tekton will last as long as the old Craftsman tools.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure
