6-point socket opening provides an ideal, exact fit for hex-shaped fastener heads. Socket geometry is designed to apply force to flat sides of fasteners and not the corners, preventing round-off. Standard-length socket is relatively versatile and suitable for a wide range of applications. Extra-large die-stamped size markings are easy to read and canโ€™t wear off. Polished, chrome-plated finish easily wipes clean and is highly resistant to corrosion. Four detent grooves provide a secure connection with the drive tool. Beveled inner rim of the socket opening helps guide it smoothly onto fasteners. Overall Socket Length: 1.78 in. Socket End Diameter: 1.42 in. Drive End Diameter: 1.3 in. Socket Well Depth: 0.79 in.

Expensive but excellent 6 point anode rod opener

High torque required to break anode rod seal and loosen rod. I ended up using this to securely attach to the anode head. Point 12 may move or jump when setting high torque, so point 6 is better. This width is 1.2 inches. The gap on the GCr-40's anode rod collar worked great with this socket. Recommended for this use!

Ideal for custom drive heads

I used this product on a 2008 Mazda Miata MX-5 NC Transmission and 23mm differential fill plugs. I put this socket on my hammer, ratchet, torque wrench and it fits perfectly every time. I felt a firm grip and great power transfer. The outer coating is scratch-resistant and durable. Not many ratchet sets are 23mm in diameter, so it's good to have this item on hand. I like the Tekton because they are heavy and affordable for the amateur mechanic. I think this is a good brand to add to my toolbox.

I have purchased several chrome plated Tekton sockets to replace the ones missing in my kits. I have lots of Craftsman tools but the nearest Sears store is over 50 miles away and they are out of stock. At the moment, Lowes only owns craftsman tool kits, not individual pieces. I have a couple of sets of Tekton Impact Sockets that I've been using for a while and haven't had any complaints so far. I just bought 2 chrome sockets this week, this size and another. The other was a CR-V socket, thisโ€ฆ
