Large lightweight backpack, not ultralight 3 lbs. I was comfortably carrying 30 pounds. The only thing I don't like is the rear compression straps, which were a bit longer, especially since Granite Gear doesn't have bottom straps for your tent or pad. They must be fixed vertically. But the side pockets are huge and fit in a tent or sleeping pad. Or two liter water bottles on each side. Very happy with this package. This is a great all-round package.
