Improved Sweet Pack

Received this pack to upgrade my Crown2 60 Granite Gear Pack. I love the crown, but this flame has some nice twists. It is more versatile in the way it stores gear. It drives better and is very easy to adjust. It can withstand heavy loads. All just a few ounces more than the Crown2. As a bonus, I think it looks better too.

  • Weight
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Great for big boys, check out the padding on the back

Lightweight? Yes. comfort? Not really. There are some stiff airflow pads on the rear, which are great, but you can feel each one in your back when fully loaded with 20 pounds or more. Love the adjustable waist strap as a 6ft 235lb guy but the back panel was too big for me. I had to come back

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

Great versatile package.

Large lightweight backpack, not ultralight 3 lbs. I was comfortably carrying 30 pounds. The only thing I don't like is the rear compression straps, which were a bit longer, especially since Granite Gear doesn't have bottom straps for your tent or pad. They must be fixed vertically. But the side pockets are huge and fit in a tent or sleeping pad. Or two liter water bottles on each side. Very happy with this package. This is a great all-round package.

The best package ever! for outdoor recreation

Amazing packaging. I'm 6ft 2in but I have a regular as I have a bit leggy leg. Went an 11 mile walk and camped for the night at 42lbs. The side bag with great features has a triple marmot tungsten tent on one side and two Nalgene on the other side. I don't know why people complain about hip bags when you don't have T-Rex arms they are lightweight accessible . The compression straps and strap points are well thought out in my opinion. The only thing I would change isn't just the one big brain…

Pros
  • Easy to use

  • Crumpled

Walking the AT this year convinced myself I needed to lose a few extra pounds. My Gregory Baltoro can easily carry heavy loads, but he weighs almost 5 pounds. I've tried several ultralight backpacks but found the sacrifice in comfort was too great. The Blaze 60 weighs 3 pounds and offers the same comfort as the Gregory. Also a much better water bottle/side pocket design and hip belt pockets that can actually hold a large phone (unlike Gregory). Adjusting the waist and shoulder straps was easy -

Excellent half the weight

I have been using Arc'teryx Bora 80 for over 20 years but have decided to lighten my load. The Blaze 60 weighs half as much, holds almost as much and is probably a little more comfortable. The large water bottle pockets, which can be tightened with drawstrings, are fantastic. A large mobile phone fits easily in large pockets on the hip belt. I've used the Blaze 60 as a daypack (it's barely heavier than my regular daypack) and the side zip makes it easy to find items underneath. I only found…

Excellent Lightweight Mid-Size Backpack

I have purchased three of these mid-sized backpacks. I'm 6 feet tall and my torso is 21 inches long. My wife is 5ft 4" with an 18" torso. This way each of us can use a regular backpack and I put the backpack in each of our cars as a home backpack. There is plenty of space in the 60-litre Blaze. for a sleeping system, kitchen utensils, food and water, a first aid kit and a set of layered clothing for my wife and I. with 30 pounds. I disagree with some reviewers as I have trouble reaching the…

Comfortable / Useful

Coming from Gregory Palisade and found this backpack very comfortable. Since buying it this summer, I've made 2 trips totaling around 50 km. My backpack initially weighed 30 to 35 pounds with water. The things I like are comfortable. The waist belt has never hurt me. Torso adjustments are limited but easy to make (make sure you're the right size). I highly recommend going to REI to find out how to fit a backpack (would buy from them but they didn't have it in stock). The weight felt light. I…

a decent lightweight backpack with some features

BLUF: This lightweight bag features a twist lock and tulip clasp which makes things a lot easier. In the few places where he tries to look smart, he looks awkward. The belt works well and is easy to adjust, fits a variety of sizes. The back pockets are spacious but not too big. If someone removes the strap for adjustment or to use with the cover as a daypack, you may need to remove items from those pockets before removing the strap from the pack. back and offers decent support for the weights…
