Not the latest and greatest

I was very disappointed when I finally freed up space and plugged in this device. Compared to another product (I almost bought another) there are many better ones out there. The sound quality is like those cheap (super cheap) thin cardboard speakers from the 1980's (at $50). This is the same technology as a few decades ago - nothing special. I bought this player to play my vinyl albums but the sound quality is terrible. Judging by the photo, the device looks a lot wider (so you can easily play albums), but it's really narrow. The screen is difficult to see even when using the remote control. There is no way to control dimming, contrast, etc. This makes using the remote almost useless. The remote also only includes about 1/10th of the controls, which isn't very helpful/useful. I had to spend extra money and buy another player for a better experience. I feel like I'm stuck with this now - the return process is too cumbersome. I don't want to take care of it. Maybe I'll give it to someone else who has vinyl and needs a turntable. I am so disappointed. Buying this device really wasted a lot of time and I don't have much space so it also takes up space which annoys me because the sound quality could be much better. For an additional $5, $10 in the price, the manufacturer could offer the customer better sound. And yet - why didn't the manufacturer turn on the antenna for better reception? I am so disappointed! :-(
