I purchased this product after purchasing the Roku Voice Remote Pro and found that it cannot control my old soundbars. With the programming function, you can control any IR TV or audio device. It was easy to program and manage the functions I needed. There is one complaint, however. Unlike other remotes I have, the remote needs to be pointed directly at the device to be controlled in order for it to work. If you're a little off-center, or a little too high or too low, you'll get nothing. I think the IR function is less powerful than more expensive remotes. Also, some Roku remotes are RF rather than infrared, so they'll work no matter where you point them. Despite this caveat, I'm happy with the purchase and these remotes are a great inexpensive alternative to Roku remotes.
