I bought this bag specifically for a weekend getaway and it works perfectly as a handbag/backpack. In addition to my wallet essentials (wallet, phone, sunglasses, some makeup items), it also fits a 20 ounce stainless steel bottle and a cardigan. Fits perfectly under an airplane seat with enough space. It's so easy to switch from backpack to shoulder and the straps never get in the way. Can't comment on durability as I've only had it for a week but I'm very happy with this purchase and will use it as my daily bag for work. Looks more expensive than it actually is and the stitching/construction appears to be well done. As mentioned, one side of the liner hangs a bit longer at the top and could get caught in the zipper if I'm not careful, but that didn't really bother me.
