Review on ๐Ÿ”ง SILCA HX-Two Metric Hex and Torx Kit - Your Must-Have Travel Essential by Jerimiah Augustine

Nice set but is it worth the price?

Nice set in a nice box. If the space in your tool chest / tool storage is not premium, you can leave this set in the storage box. They call it an amenity kit, so a lot of people will probably take the whole box with them, although it will definitely take up more storage space. This is unusual for two reasons: coated handles and a Torx/Allen combination. /Hex key in a holder. I also didn't see any L-shaped torx screwdrivers. The quality seems pretty good and the coated grips really improve grip. The main disadvantage of this set is the high price of $75. About a year and a half ago I bought two quality American made Bondhus kits, one with an Allen socket and one with a tamper evident Torx, for a total of $62. (The tamper-proof feature includes a hole in the center of the torx head, increasing the price.) Both sets have screwdriver heads and a total of 9 tools. The Allen/Hex set is the same size as the Silca and the Torx is just down one size starting from T6 to T25 where this Silca set goes from T7 to T30. So you can buy two high quality American kits with almost the same tools for less money and get the added benefit of the torx tamper protection often found on CCTV cameras. A screwdriver handle will almost always be more convenient than Silka's L-shape when it comes to Torx. I give the Silca set 4 stars here, but compared to Bondhus it's only 4 stars. This set was made in Taiwan.
