Wooden box and the compass itself is of good quality. With normal use, however, the main part of the compass (with dial, main directions, etc.) detached from the brass housing after just a few days. I tried two types of glue to put it back on (superglue and hot glue) and neither of them stuck. So it just hangs in its case and falls out as soon as you open the case. Who knows, maybe my kid dropped it without my knowledge, causing it to come loose. Even if it is, it still happened very easily. I originally gave a 2 star review because of this issue. The company contacted and refunded my money without even receiving the product back. So, out of gratitude for your attention, I am changing the rating to 4 stars. Maybe I'll try Gorilla's Glue next time.
