Review on Enhanced Rear Track Bar Bracket by Rough Country for 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK | Model 1167 by Jay Lee

Made a huge difference

This was relatively easy to install on my 2007 2 door JK with 2.5" lift. coil spring. I suspect this is because I haven't replaced the rear arms yet and the coil spring is slightly bent due to axle tilt (I could be wrong). My solution was to raise the frame so I had room to insert the cross member into the bracket and insert the bolt from the opposite side, then lower the entire bracket onto the axle bracket. on the spring side of the clevis, which provides the necessary clearance to avoid rubbing on the coil spring. If you do it this way, make sure you insert a vertical bolt into the clevis that goes through the new hole you drilled before inserting the rail into the bracket. the rear link is in the bracket, you cannot insert this vertical bolt into the bracket without removing the tie rod again. To me, all of the holes matched very well, and there was only a slight difficulty installing one of the nuts in the axle mount. I ended up having to use a perfectly flat wrench to get the nut in the tube. My wrench with a slight kink in the neck didn't allow me to get the right angle to get the bolt through the pipe. The installation effort was worth it. The bracket centers the rear axle almost perfectly. I was amazed at how much this affected the handling of the jeep. This removed brake dive and eliminated some of the steering volatility. And it seems to have completely eliminated the ABS ESP issues I was having cornering. Only time will tell if the mount is as strong as it feels. But for now I would give it a solid 4 stars. I would feel better if it also had a U-bolt for a little extra strength like the Teraflex mount. But the price was too good to pass up.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
