Review on Fire and Waterproof Pouch (2000℉) - Safeguard Cash, Passports, and Documents with a Fireproof Money Bag for Secure Money Storage, Fireproof and Waterproof Protection by Jeff Perez

Almost useless - see photo

While it offers instant fire protection, don't expect real fire protection. I thought I'd start with the "simple" test. Bake at 360 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes. This is a very low temperature, lower than any real fire. The photos show the result. I removed the plastic zipper beforehand because I knew it wouldn't survive. You can see that the seams are completely melted. What you can't see is that I had a sous vide plastic bag and papers in it - the bad one completely melted leaving an illegible mess. I don't know the actual melting point of a sous vide bag other than that it's a little over 212°F. When the inside of the bag is that hot and the outside is only 360°F, you shouldn't expect any real temperature drop. And it's only 15 minutes! So why 2 stars instead of 1? I see a possible use. The zip and bag itself appear to be relatively intact - and I suspect they are waterproof to some degree. The only use I see is to provide some water protection in a safe that is fireproof (350F inside) but not waterproof. Of course, this bag leaves a mess on everything but the bag. Also, this bag is pretty useless in my opinion.
