Update from 01/30/21: Last week I bought a new scratching post because the first one expired. Pleasantly surprised by the new design! Just a few changes but I'm sure I can tell the difference. See note below on tape. The rear is also now one instead of two, and this is perhaps the best update. Time will tell on the tape but it seems to be a lot better already as the connectors are configured differently I think. Printed instructions are also easier to follow. What used to be a great scratching post is now even better. My 6 cats enjoy this new scratching post. I have all kinds of scratching posts in my house, carpet, cardboard, vertical, horizontal, high, low, but one just doesn't want to use them. He's finally found someone he likes! Hooray! It has also become a timeshare where you can take a nap. Every time I look up someone else is sleeping in it. The "novelty" is over, but they still like it. Be sure to watch the YouTube video for instructions. It was very helpful. Nothing special, but still a bit confusing without this video. My only gripe is that the adhesive strips that are supposed to hold the pages in place came loose within the first 36 hours. I added some staples to the sides and the problem is solved. I would definitely buy it again despite this small issue.
