A great idea because many cats want to stretch up high to scratch their claws. I have two cats and only one uses it but it's great because my other cat prefers sisal and they both have something they like. There is a small issue with the sticky clip holding the top upright. It "peeled" constantly until I used a large rubber band to hold the clips in place. But I still love this cat scratching post.

I've taken this to several places around the house and then a lot of catnip, but now it's her favorite scratching spot. Luckily, he braced himself right against the back of the couch, preventing them from scratching the couch instead. It's really cute to see them itchy like the cat in the promotional photo. The edges don't stick very well, but a little glue won't solve the problem.

After much trial and error we now have a cat scratching post that both cats will use! One of our cats preferred vertical scratching posts and another liked horizontal ones (which are no longer made, hence the search for another acceptable product). This one suits both instincts and both cats! They scratch it and sit happily in it. It's a little tricky to assemble but holds up well when picked up and used. Our cats highly recommend this product!

This product now tolerates a second kitten and they both love to sit and scratch their behinds slowly and rhythmically. Even though the scratching surface is made out of cardboard, don't worry about the durability - it's lasted longer than I ever dreamed of and is still standing. In addition, the bottom box can be turned over. By the way, it comes unassembled. You should unfold it and bend a few pieces of thick wax paper to reinforce its parts.

cute assembly instructions show the cat playing with it throughout the process. That's exactly what happened. As soon as I opened it, cats were everywhere. I had to keep moving them to complete the assembly. Now they fight over who gets it and continue to take turns sitting in it and scratching. It looks like it's just going to be a box, but when the cat is sitting on the floor it's very stable, so it can scratch high. I'm a huge fan!

My cats LOVE this scratching post. They're not fans of sisal, and the carpet doesn't hold their attention for long. Update from 01/30/21: Last week I bought a new scratching post because the first one expired. Pleasantly surprised by the new design! Just a few changes but I'm sure I can tell the difference. See note below on tape. The rear is also now one instead of two, and this is perhaps the best update. Time will tell on the tape but it seems to be a lot better already as the connectors are configured differently I think. Printed instructions are also easier to follow.
