I had to open the hood on my 944 a bit more than usual to get these shocks to fit. They seem to have enough opening power at the moment but I've noticed the cartridge element is thinner than my old ones, will they last? The large BOXI logo is a bit of a distraction, along with the painted black stem versus the more traditional polished ones. But the price was about half what others would cost, so it makes up for the cosmetic issues. To update. They also fit my 1987 Turbo. .don't know why the 1987 model year ID is excluded from applicability in the product description. They work great on my NA 1983 944 and my 1987 944 Turbo. which to expect as this part doesn't change in this series.
