Size chart says size is based on waist size, not bust or hips, which placed me in the XL category. I typically run size S so I took a guess that M was my actual size. With my athletic/petite build, even M was too large so I replaced with S and now it fits. I've never worn a corset before but I'm thinking this is pretty comfortable for one. The only thing that isn't perfect is that the top of the corset (which is rigid) makes an unnatural shape at the breast area that is visible through the thinner material of my dress. If my dress fabric were thicker it might not be an issue. But it's manageable and I think the best I'll be able to get so I'm going to keep it.
