I need an apple corer that takes up little space and is easy to clean. Most core-and-slice models are huge devices that take up a quarter of a box. Most other core-only models have a ridiculously large grip at the top. This is a slim piece that fits in any drawer and fits right into the cutlery holders in the dishwasher. I'm a little concerned about durability. The open part in the middle is quite thin and only keeps its shape due to the gentle curve. Someone who presses it hard can bend it in half. But if you keep it away from people who might try to push it through a pineapple, it should last quite a while. Also remember that you want to rotate it to saw through the apple and let that do the work. If you push too hard, you're doing it wrong. Finally, it *might* be too small. Even on small Gala and Fuji apples, it often leaves a seed or two there. I feel like wasting less apple flesh is a fair deal.
