Review on ๐Ÿ”ซ BOSTITCH SX1838K: Premium 18 Gauge Narrow Crown Stapler for Efficient Fastening by George Kapoor

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Yes, it shoots 1/4 " slotted staples.

I don't know why Bostitch sells this tool as it uses 7/32" crown staples - the metric spec for a 6mm crown tool - and 6mm is _inter_ 7/32" and 1/4". And Stanley/Black&Decker (Bostitch's parent company) sells variants of the same tool under their PorterCable and DeWalt brand names as "1/4" crown staplers. Marketing. Works great with 1/4" (non Bostitch) braces. I love this tool. It's well balanced, comfortable to use, stable with a variety of materials, easy to load, easy to place staples where I want. The spout opens fully when loading so you can clear jams without tools I had no wrinkles I didn't use Bostitch braces Good warranty and parts and conversion kits available Unlike cheap disposables... The problem is it doesn't anymore comes with a swiveling air connector (straight only) and the standard Bostitch hard case it comes in (rather than the soft one as described) doesn't even have room for a small bag of staples, no staples either, but with others I was satisfied with Bostitch air tools and would buy them again.

Pros
  • Selectable crown stapler firing system converts from sequential to contact operation
Cons
  • Expensive
