This frame was easy to put together but was about an inch shorter than the metal headboard I bought it for. My friend wanted to drill holes in the metal plate to make it work, so I left it assembled in the spare room. About 2 hours after we assembled the bed frame, my sister asked me what the chemical smell in the house was. We couldn't figure it out for hours and then realized it was coming from the bed frame. There was no noticeable odor until the frame started to get warm after being out of the box for a while. We had a lot of heat the day the frame was assembled and as soon as the frame started to heat up the chemicals from the paint that had been used to coat the bed frame began to leach out throughout the house. I was drying laundry in the spare room where the bedstead was, and there was a toxic smell of chemicals. I had to rewash the entire load but some still smell. I ended up packing the bed frame back and putting it outside on the porch so the item was no longer in my house. Yesterday I opened the windows in my upstairs house to try and get rid of the smell but it didn't fully work. I can't believe Revain would even sell this product. This item is made in China and they must use very TOXIC paint to cover the frame itself. This is definitely the worst product I have ever purchased from Revain due to health and safety concerns.
