Review on 🎡 Denon DP-300F Automatic Analog Turntable with Phono Equalizer, Innovative Tonearm, Hologram Vibration Analysis, and Sleek Slim Design by Kevin Folsom

Avoid the headache and spend the extra $70 on something else.

later I thought I struck a deal but it ended up being a lot more headache than it was worth. For $200, expect the more basic functions to work just fine (e.g. the arm lift mechanism). There are turntables that cost significantly less and can do these things adequately for decades. When I first got the turntable, the autostart barely lifted my arm, causing it to fall off just before recording and my cartridge to start rubbing against the rim of the platter. Unacceptable. But with the automatic stop it was even worse. Instead of lifting the tonearm and gently returning it to its original position, the motor would kick in halfway through the record and pull the stylus along the face of the record. Unbelievable. He started using it after 6 days. Initially I thought these were issues I could live with as the player itself sounded acceptable with my setup. A week later, the constant paranoia of reaching for my hand to protect my expensive cassette for the rest of the recording was just annoying and unnecessary. Decided to return in a week. It became unusable after the autostop refused to do so halfway to the record before ruthlessly pushing the tonearm across the record. For the price, there are better, albeit slightly more expensive, alternatives. But if you're serious about your audio gear, buy something else. Denon seems to have an ambiguous approach to these players. Some work fine, some don't, and some are just lemons. Speed consistency issues, auto start/stop issues, and a cheap arm lift mechanism are common issues I see around the web. I saw them while doing my research but the price was really tempting. I really wanted to like this turntable and I hope Denon takes care of that because the good build quality of this thing and its flexibility could easily make it one of the best selling turntables out there. Until then, I hesitate to recommend it to anyone; if you're not an electronics fanatic and can't find a way to turn off the annoying parts of this player. Revain was great at helping me return an item and I received my refund quickly.
